Massage Therapy in Albuquerque

OUR APPROACH

Many people think that massage therapy is a luxury, but the truth is, when applied with a personalized & thoughtful approach, it can be the key to living life in a body that is full of vitality and freedom.

This idea has led to an expectation that massage is simply spreading lotion on your skin for relaxation purposes. This makes it challenging as a patient to understand why massage will help you achieve your goals, especially when your experience has been dismissed or minimized by the medical-industrial complex.

It would be easy to say that we’ll improve your health and wellness by helping you destress, but what we do is actually quite complex. Pain and stiffness doesn’t appear out of nowhere; it’s the result of patterns and habits formed over time. We start at the pain point and follow the lines of tension to uncover and treat the root cause.  This allows us to detect what doctors miss.

The basic “moves” you’ve probably experienced at a spa or massage parlor are one-size-fits-all. We don’t copy and paste the same moves- we continuously educate ourselves, diving into anatomy research and collaborating to create the most informed and effective treatment plan for YOU.

In saying that, we use an approach that utilizes neurobiology, molecular biology and anatomy & physiology to integrate you as a whole person. It has worked for us with ambitious folks of all types, from world champion power lifters to full time desk jockeys. This approach is entirely based on listening to you and your lived experience. You know your body-we’re eager to listen.

HOW WE DO THAT

1. We don’t rush we don’t rush you in and out.
Unlike most practices that squeeze clients into tight schedules, we prioritize your experience by building in ample time before and after each session. This means you get:

    • A full 60 or 90 minutes (or more) of hands-on work.
    • A thorough intake to understand your physical sensations, lifestyle, and goals.
    • A post-massage debrief to reflect on your experience and any breakthroughs.
    • Personalized strategies to help you build habits that support your health and movement.

Life happens—traffic, work delays, or unexpected stress—so we’ve designed our schedule to accommodate you, not the clock. This allows your nervous system to settle, your mind to relax, and your body to release tension on its own time.

2. We deliver satisfying deep tissue massage
Our massages are a transformative experience that goes beyond just pressure or technique. By combining our expertise in neurobiology and anatomy with the insights you share during your intake, we address both physiological knots, which can be released through skilled manual manipulation, and neurological knots, which require a deeper connection between your body and mind. To tackle these, we may incorporate breathwork and mindfulness into your session, helping to release tension at its source while you simply relax and unwind.

3. We empower you with knowledge.
Understanding why certain activities help or hurt allows you to make better daily decisions. This isn’t just about one session—it’s about equipping you with tools and insights you can use for life. You’ll leave not only feeling better but also confident in your ability to advocate for your own well-being.

4. We follow up
Our commitment doesn’t end when you leave the table. We follow up with clients as an accountability buddy, helping you stay on track with your goals. We also want to make sure that you’re seeing the results we sought to achieve, and if you’re not experiencing those results, we adjust. We’re not just easing symptoms but supporting your natural ability to heal and find balance, creating a partnership where you feel seen, heard, and cared for every step of the way.

If you’d like to experience our approach firsthand, we’d love to see you. You can book an appointment here.

TOOLS IN
OUR
TOOLBOX

Here’s a brief overview of some of the treatment tools we use in practice.

Ashiatsu is a form of barefoot massage where the practitioner uses their feet to apply deep, broad pressure to the body. This technique leverages releases tension, improves mobility, and promotes relaxation, often targeting large muscle groups and fascia.

A topical application infused with cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound derived from hemp. It is used to alleviate pain, calm inflammation, and soften tension.

A hands-on massage technique that focuses on applying sustained pressure to deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. This modality is used to release chronic tension, break up scar tissue, and improve mobility, often addressing specific areas of discomfort or restriction.

A guided practice that involves conscious regulation of breathing patterns to influence the nervous system.

A therapy that involves placing suction cups on the skin to create a vacuum effect. This technique helps to release muscle tension by creating space between the layers of fascia, and increasing the localized flow of lymphatic fluid. This promotes healing, often leaving temporary circular marks on the skin.

The use of essential oils derived from plants to regulate the nervous system by stimulating the senses. Can be inhaled or applied topically.

Techniques, such as meditation or guided awareness to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and sync the nervous system with the motor system.
